Isaac Region Tourism Trail...a Golden Opportunity! COMPLETE THE SURVEY!

Clermont, with its strong mining heritage, has long been the recreational prospecting capital of Queensland, with 11 public prospecting areas set aside on State Forest and Council managed land (GPAs), where multiple land uses have co-existed for nearly three decades. Prospectors know there's more gold out there on public land, but unfair and complex land access laws have locked us out of opportunity for too long.

As a strong community advocate, The Outback Prospector has over many years provided numerous detailed submissions to local Council, State Government Ministers and Opposition MPs on the issues limiting the potential of recreational prospecting in Queensland. We've attracted public attention to these issues on various media platforms, entered legal proceedings against Chinese coal miners to fight for better outcomes for prospectors and attended many community and industry stakeholder meetings.

Now everyone finally has an opportunity to make their voices heard directly to those with the authority to improve opportunities for the recreational prospecting community.

Isaac Regional Council (IRC) is partnering with Mackay Isaac Tourism to develop the Isaac Tourism Trails Strategic Plan, to shape the strategic direction of tourism in the Isaac and implement a range of actions to guide regional tourism trails development.

Council has engaged DR Tourism to undertake an assessment of the Isaac regional visitation market to identify existing and potential tourism 'products' and infrastructure development.

It's time for you to speak up on issues that matter to you!

Surveys are now open* for community and business input from Isaac residents and visitors to our region.
